The three laws of robotics were created by science-fiction author Isaac Asimov for his books, and they go as follows:
The plot of I, Robot (one of Asimov's books that has been adapted for film) hinges on these laws and their consequences. To get the extra points for the Robot card, your robot needs to either follow these laws, or explicitly break them. Either way, we have to see that they come into play.
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
